Angry Egg

Nestled in the heart of Norridge, Illinois, Angry Egg is not just another chicken restaurant; it is a culinary haven for lovers of bold flavors and hearty portions. Located at 8536 W Lawrence Ave, this eatery has quickly garnered a reputation for serving some of the most delectable chicken dishes in the Chicagoland area.

As I stepped into Angry Egg, the warm atmosphere and friendly staff immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant’s commitment to quality is evident in every bite, with fresh ingredients and a menu that promises satisfaction for every palate.

  • The Angry Egg Sandwich: This is a must-try for anyone who enjoys a flavor explosion. It features spicy Nashville hot chicken, crispy bacon, creamy slaw, house-made sauce, pickles, and a perfectly fried egg, all nestled between a soft brioche bun. One bite, and I found myself savoring the harmony of textures and flavors—crunchy, spicy, and rich.
  • Southern Charm Breakfast Sandwich: Breakfast enthusiasts will revel in the Southern Charm. The dish showcases fried chicken and bacon, complemented by cole slaw and served with fluffy biscuits. Generous portions ensure that every meal feels rewarding and worth the wait.
  • Chicken & Waffles: For those craving a sweet-salty combo, the Chicken & Waffles beckons. The fragrant aroma wafting through the restaurant had me eagerly awaiting my turn to indulge.

As many returning patrons have noted, the portions at Angry Egg are not just large; they are a testament to the value provided to customers. Each meal promises not only flavor but also satisfaction, with leftovers often becoming a delightful option.

It’s essential to consider that Angry Egg operates as a take-out only establishment. This setup allows patrons to enjoy their meals in the comfort of their own space. However, I highly recommend calling ahead to avoid potential wait times, especially during peak hours.

In an era where fast food dominates, Angry Egg stands out by offering not just food but a passionate dedication to freshness and flavor. Whether you’re a fan of Nashville hot chicken or looking for a delightful breakfast option, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit. For authenticity in every bite, remember to stop by Angry Egg—you won’t regret it!

I’m a fan of Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and they aren’t too many places that offer it in the Chicagoland area. So when I drove by today and saw the sign I knew I had to turn back and give Angry Egg a try. I got the angry egg sandwich at which was hot chicken, slaw, bacon, house sauce (lick it off the wrapper good), fried egg, pickles(good) on a brioche bun. I also got a healthy side of Mac and cheese and by healthy I mean a good size portion. The sandwich was big and delicious and as much as I wanted to savor every bite I found my self chowing down and licking the sauce off my fingers all too soon. I even considered going back for a second sandwich and amping up the heat but I had to get to work and that Mac and cheese which was also great filled me up. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for tasty and straight fire place to eat.

Loved, loved, loved my breakfast at the Angry Egg Cafe! If you're looking for a fun, new breakfast option in the area, this is definitely the place! I tried their "Southern Charm" breakfast sandwich (pictured), which was absolutely delicious. Fried chicken, bacon, cole slaw, served with biscuits. Generous portions and an excellent value. There are many different choices and specials options to select from. The staff is super friendly and I will definitely be back soon to try another of their breakfasts!

Tried to eat here last week but they sold out. It’s definitely a hidden gem. They buy the chicken fresh and the end product shows it. The breading is crispy but light. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Gonna try the Chicken & Waffles next. The staff consists of two so be patient. Recommend calling ahead to secure an order whether eating in or taking out.

So great! What a hidden gem! Food is flavorful and cooked fresh. Menu items may seem pricey, but the portion sizes are huge, and the food quality is excellent, so you really get your money's worth. I ordered the Angry Egg, and my husband had the three-piece tenders, and we have leftovers! We honestly probably could have split a meal (but why would you want to when the food is this delicious). Restaurant looked clean, and the staff was very friendly. It took 15-20 minutes to cook our food, so we went for a walk while we waited, and the cashier called us when our food was ready. Next time, I'll probably order ahead to avoid the wait, but there definitely will be a next time for us. The waffles smelled heavenly in the restaurant, so I might try that next. If you're nearby, check this place out. If you're far, make the trip ;-)
